Lam Soon Edibles Oils Penang Bukit Minyak Distribution Centre was named 1st Runner Up in the Tropical Building Category of the ASEAN Energy Awards, one of only two Malaysian building to achieve this honor.
The ASEAN Energy Awards is a regional competition that provides international recognition to entities that apply the concepts, systems and technology of energy efficiency and conservation. Winners become models in the Asean region to replicate and promote energy-efficient management programs.
LSEO is also proudly unveiled the Bukit Minyak Distribution Centre, the first Green Building Index (GBI) – INC (Industrial New Construction) certified distribution centre, in Malaysia.
It consists of a two storey air-conditioned office building with an estimated Gross Floor Area of 1,400m² and a naturally ventilated warehouse with an estimated GFA of about 12,000 m².
The distribution centre currently enjoys 33% saving in potable water consumption with rainwater harvesting for landscape irrigation and sewage flushing. Power consumption achieves 40% improvement, a result of design factors that maximize natural daylight and natural ventilation for cooling such as louvering, low-emissivity glazing and more.
The Bukit Minyak Distribution Centre is the second of the company’s new generation distribution centres for the 21st Century, the first being in Senai, Johor that was commissioned in 2006. |

On January 2006, Pacific Oleo’s Pasir Gudang site was successfully recommended for the achievement of the OHSAS 18001 certification by Lloyd’s Register Quality Assurance Ltd. The original certification was later obtained on 12th April 2006. This certification is significant to the existing QHSE Management System which has always emphasized on Occupational Safety and Health since its early establishment. The implementation of OHSAS 18001 shall further strengthen and complement the Behaviour Based Safety (BBS) System which has been in place since 2004. |

On 28th April 2005, Knife brand received the SuperBrand 2005 Gold Awards from Reader's Digest Asia. During this Reader's Digest 2005 SuperBrand consumer Survey, Reader's Digest distributed 180,000 questionnaires across Hong Kong, Malaysia, Philipines, Singapore, Taiwan and Thailand; asking their readers to nominate their favourite brands. In addition to processing responses from this group, Reader's Digest also commissioned Nielson Media Research to interview thousands of consumer by telephone with the same questions.
They were asked to access their nominated brands for the core values of Quality, Value, Strengh of Image, Trustworthiness and how well each brand Understands the consumers needs.
